This is one of my grandma's quilting tricks, I was reminded of it while I was being acupunctured last weekend. She would load five or ten needles, quilt until each was empty, and then count them again before getting up from her chair to be sure none were left floating around.
I've been lucky enough to have two long chats with two good friends in the last two days. It's so rejuvenating, which is delightful. It's a treat, and a bit of a surprise to enjoy it so much, every time. Kristi (Vivian's mom) was nursing, so I could hear all of Vivian's newborn burbles and squeaks while her mom shared their birth story. Newborns! I need one of my own! It'll be a snap the second time around, right?
Katie's son George was talking in the background too, and he sounds like such a little boy now. He's a bit older than Merrick and putting together phrases and questions, making one of those sudden leaps as toddlers do. I love that he's a bit older, hearing Katie talk about him makes me so excited for Merrick's next steps.
